Geographic Information Systems
The GIS Department is responsible for creating, maintaining, analyzing and distributing the county's geographic base data. The primary function of the department is to support county operations.
2021 Commissioner Redistricting
On December 29, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners voted to reapportion county commissioner districts according to Option 3 as presented. All plans and interactive maps can be viewed at www.sanmiguelcountyco.gov/redistricting2021.

Historic Maps of Telluride
Interested in historic maps? The University of Colorado has the Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps available for online viewing. They are large scale and highly detailed maps from the late 1800s / early 1900s.
Story Maps
What is a Story Map? A Story Map is an interactive media format for sharing stories. The GIS Department has worked with different departments and groups to create presentations of the Parks & Open Space Annual Reports and an introduction to the Upper San Miguel Basin Landscape Assessment.
