Be Wildfire Ready

PLAN. PREPARE. STAY AWARE.

Every member of the community has personal responsibility for their own safety. This includes adequate planning and preparedness for the hazards and risks that affect each community within our county. San Miguel County OEM is responsible for providing services and resources, as available, to all members of our community, but can only be successful with the help of every prepared individual. Community preparedness is a joint effort between emergency response agencies and community members.

As catastrophic wildfires continue to increase each year, there are steps you can take to protect yourself, your family, and your property. Pack a go-kit, have a family plan, and work to harden your home against fire. Property owners and residents are encouraged to take the steps on the “READY, SET, GO!” website or the Cal Fire Prepare for Wildfire site
