Down Valley Connector Trail Feasibility Study

Down Valley Connector Trail Feasibility Study Project

Welcome to the San Miguel County Down Valley Connector Trail webpage! This is an exciting new County trail project, which would ultimately link Down Valley residents to the Town of Telluride through a non-motorized trail for hikers and bikers. This webpage will provide up to date details and alerts about this potential new trail.

The County has utilized grant funding to hire Otak Inc to conduct a feasibility study which will explore the possibility of this 3.4-mile Down Valley Connector trail. The trail would begin at the Down Valley Park in Placerville and connect to the M59 River Trail just beyond the Sawpit community.

The target location for the trail is within Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) ROW and other publicly owned lands. The County is contacting all landowners within the potential trail corridor to notify them of the project and open an opportunity for feedback and input regarding the trail proposal. Community meetings will take place in early October to discuss the various trail components that exist within each segment of the trail.
