Diamond Ridge Rezoning

(May 19, 2022) – San Miguel County and Telluride, CO -- During their regular meeting on May 18, 2022, the San Miguel County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) unanimously approved the rezoning of a 39-acre portion of the 105-acre Diamond Ridge Property.

San Miguel County and the Town of Telluride are under contract to purchase the Diamond Ridge Property located near the Telluride Regional Airport to develop as deed-restricted, community housing in the future and applied to rezone 39 acres from Forestry-Agriculture-Open (F) to the Community Housing (CH) zone.

The State of Colorado’s Division of Housing (DOH) awarded the County and Town a $5M grant to assist with the acquisition of the Diamond Ridge Property. The County and Town will now proceed to close on the Property and begin work on preliminary plan development.

The County and Town appreciate all the community members that attended in person or via Zoom to share their input with the BOCC and are looking forward to engaging all community members in future public meetings as we begin work developing plans for the Diamond Ridge Property.

Please contact the Town of Telluride’s Public Information Officer, David Nepsky: 970-728-2165 with questions or concerns.
