Request for Proposals For Professional Architectural Services Rehabilitation of the Matterhorn Mill
The County is issuing a request for proposals for an Architect with historic preservation experience, especially with mining-related structures. San Miguel County plans to apply for a Colorado State Historical Preservation Fund Grant for stabilization and restoration of the historic Matterhorn Mill the summer of 2021. The actual grant deadline is August 1st with draft applications requested by July 1st. The purpose of this RFP is to assist the County in preparation of their grant application submission with accurate figures for future construction and historic rehabilitation of the Matterhorn Mill structure.
Architects responding to this proposal must have experience using the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and Historic Preservation. A site visit/pre-bid meeting to the Matterhorn Mill is mandatory to respond to this RFP. This site is located 9 miles south of Telluride, Colorado off of Priest Lane along Highway 145. In order to ensure compliance with ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19, pre-bid meetings for the Matterhorn Mill project will be held on-site at multiple time intervals to ensure the recommended group size of less than 10 people is met.
