1. When do I need a Driveway Permit?

If you are constructing a driveway on a public or county road you will need to apply for a driveway permit through Road and Bridge Department. You will also need a Development Permit through the Planning Department: 970-728-3083 or Planning page. If you are constructing a driveway on a private road you may be required to get a Development Permit.

2. What kind of road permit do I need?

If you are constructing a driveway- apply for a Driveway Permit. If you are disturbing the ROW of a County or public road or hauling on a County or public road you will need a Special Construction Permit. Please check with other county departments for additional permits that may be required, such as a Development Permit through the Planning Department.
