Anne Brown was appointed District 1 Commissioner on May 17, 2023, by the San Miguel County Democratic Party Vacancy Committee. She is a long-time county resident, having moved here in 1989 with her husband Tobin, and raised her two sons in the Telluride area. Anne holds a B.A. in Economics from Yale University and sits on the Board of Directors for the university’s Alumni Fund. She is Chair of the Advisory Council for Telluride Mountain School, which she has served continuously in various capacities since the school was established in the late 1990s, including as trustee and officer.
Anne worked for over 30 years as a qualitative market researcher before joining the San Miguel County Public Health Department during the COVID-19 pandemic as Health Educator and Contact Tracing Team Lead. She works closely with our local immigrant population, especially Latino leaders, working to ensure that the concerns of these and other under-represented and under-served residents are heard and addressed.
